"A leader is a person that influences the values and choices of another person."
When asked to describe/define a leader - our students offered up qualities and descriptors of the influential people in their lives. We know they have the capacity to demonstrate those same characteristics themselves!
The 3rd annual CEO Leadership Summit took place this week, hosted at Western Illinois University. More than 100 students representing 9 CEO programs across Illinois attended.
We were greeted on campus by Colonel Rock WIU Live Mascot (aka "Ray") and welcomed by WIU College of Business & Technology Interim Dean Dr. Tara Feld.
β¨We learned about "Unlocking Entrepreneurial Magic" with Keynote Speaker Chris Egelston, and turning "Handshakes Into Relationships" with Dr. Jeremy Robinett. Of course, we put those handshakes into practice with networking opportunities! π€
π₯A fireside chat featuring Donnie Wilson, Interim Executive Director of Midland Institute for Entrepreneurship, and Alex Eckhardt, owner of Q-Town Kicks and Adams County CEO alum and board member, highlighted the benefits and importance of mentorship.
π€²In the end, Dan Teefey, President of the Tracy Family Foundation, challenged us to "Lead For Good" - reminding us that we all have the capacity to lead and influence those closest to us.
Many thanks to Dr. Honey Zimmerman for making this event happen. We were thrilled to be a part of it!
