No April fools in CEO - just awesome students pitching their businesses. What a great morning!

Today, McDonough County CEO had the privilege of hosting our area's 4th annual Regional Pitch Competition. Seven other CEO Programs joined us on WIU's campus to hear 21 students give their 30-second pitches.

These young entrepreneurs are creative, thoughtful, and impressive. Each one got on stage and delivered a 30-second business pitch before a room full of their peers, board members, mentors, and parents. Our 7 volunteer judges sure had their work cut out for them.

Three winners were determined, and cash prizes were handed out. The scores were so close, though, that the judges awarded 5 more with honorable mention.

👏 Congratulations to McDonough County's very own Tim Todd - Next Act Studios - for taking home first place! Ava Huston (fields & flowers goat soaps) and Anna Dixon (Grandma's Homemade Ice Cream) also made us very proud!

Stay tuned - we'll share more about all of our new business owners in the weeks leading up to the trade show. (Psst: mark your calendars for May 5!)
