Conflict doesn’t have to be a dirty word.

It’s inevitable. How we react and work through it determines the outcome.

Dr. Honey Zimmerman, Assistant Professor in the School of Accounting & Business Administration at WIU, led the team through valuable discussions about conflict management, emotional intelligence, and nonverbal/verbal communication.

We know that, at some point during the year, there will be conflict - differing ideas, mindsets, approaches - and now we have some more tools in the toolbox to help us through it. We discovered our own conflict management style. We talked through a couple of scenarios to demonstrate how things can escalate if not handled well.

The year ahead will be filled will challenges. Learning how to react and manage them is all part of the program.
