Accessing the Internet is something we don’t have think about too much these days.
Having reliable service in rural areas takes a lot more time, equipment, and funding than we realize.
On Friday, we visited McDonough Telephone Cooperative - MTC with Hancock County CEO Class to get an overview of the services they provide and learn how fiber optic internet cable is installed. They make it possible for rural residents to have access to an important part of every day life.
MTC is also the location for our first quarter “home base” - where McDonough County CEO meets every day (when not out on a business visit). They continue to invest in our CEO Program, and we are so thankful for their support!
Thanks to Jay and Rachel, and Daryl and his construction crew for the thorough overview on Friday!
